Bahrain Grand Prix will always be remembered as the first Formula 1 race in the Middle East. It is staged at the International Circuit, Sakhir, Manama, Bahrain.
It is not an easy job, organizing a race in the middle of the dessert, but the organisers are doing a great job, not only by finding a genius solution to keep the sand off the track, but also by providing a first class facilities, safety and maintaining high standards in every aspect of the race organization.
There efforts were rewarded when FIA gave them the “Best Organised Grand Prix” award.

Interesting is the fact that winners do not spray champagne on the podium, but Waard which is a non-alcoholic rosewater drink. Alcoholic beverages are legal in Bahrain.
Only 3 teams and 4 drivers have won here in the 6 races that Bahrain has hosted. Ferrari has 3 wins, one for Michael Schumacher (2004) and two for Felipe Massa (2007, 2008), while Renault’s Fernando Alonso won in 2005 and 2006.
Jenson Button won the Bahrain Grand Prix for Brawn in 2009.
