British Grand Prix
The British Grand Prix, being one of the oldest, is regarded by many as one of the most prestigious as well and is in most fans top 3 races of the year.
In December 2009 a deal was signed which will keep the race at Silverstone for the next 17 years. For more information please check Silverstone 2010 and Silverstone Tickets.
It is somewhat sad that Silversone, which has hosted the event since 1948 (with a few exceptions), will not be the home of the British Grand Prix for at least the next 10 years. It was announced in 2008 that Donington Park has been awarded the contract and will stage the event from 2010.
As expected, thousands British F1 fans went to Silversone in June 2009 hopeful to see another Hamilton win and to say goodbye to this historic circuit.
Jim Clark and Alain Prost lead the table of all time British Grand Prix winners with 5 wins each.
Recent winners:
2009 Sebastian Vettel Red Bull-Renault
2008 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes
2007 Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari
2006 Fernando Alonso Renault
2005 Juan Pablo Montoya
