Former world champion Kimi Raikkonen will return to Formula 1 next season after signing a two-year deal with Renault, who will become Lotus in 2012.

The 32-year-old left F1 at the end of 2009 to pursue a career in rallying.
The Finn was strongly linked with a move to Williams just a few week ago, but Renault have pounced for his signature after it was confirmed that Robert Kubica will miss the start of next season due to the injuries he sustained during a rallying accident earlier this year.
“My hunger for F1 has recently become overwhelming,” said Raikkonen. “It was an easy choice to return with Lotus Renault GP.”
The Finn, who won the title in 2007 with Ferrari, added: “I have been impressed by the scope of the team’s ambition. Now I’m looking forward to playing an important role in pushing the team to the very front of the grid.
“My time in the World Rally Championship has been a useful stage in my career as a driver.”
Kimi made his Formula One debut back in 2001 with Sauber. He then spent five seasons with McLaren, from 2002 to 2006, winning nine Grands Prix and twice finishing runner-up in the drivers’ championship. He moved to Ferrari for 2007.
Team owner Gerard Lopez said the high-profile signing of Raikkonen was one of several steps the squad are taking to return to the front of F1, adding that he is delighted to have captured the services of a world champion.
“All year long, we kept saying that our team was at the start of a brand new cycle. Backstage we’ve been working hard to build the foundations of a successful structure and to ensure that we would soon be able to fight at the highest level,” he said.
Raikkonen’s return to F1 means there will be six World Champions on the grid next year as the Finn will line up next to Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel.

“What can I say. This is my third Italian GP in a row. 2 of them on my own. I never felt alone! I will go without food to go here every september. It is as simple as that and bok F1 are as professional as you would ever want. I will employ their professional services with confidence. ”
John Mullen
“Everything went smooth. Recommend (as always) book your accommodation in advance.
Don’t worry about the train transport in Monza, quite easy to work out once you are there – do not wait in line, the ticket machines translate to english and are straight fwd. If you want to get clever, get the next days ticket the night before.
Stay near centrale station this is what we did and it worked a treat, including airport transport when time to depart.
There is a cool bar area in Milan Central, cant give you street name, however just follow the high heels and you will find it.
Done a few GPs and Monza is up there with the best, Italians are great and food and wine is second to none.
Have a great time! ”

“Had a great view of the first chicane and the crash on race day. Plenty of shade when not watching which was great as it was very hot and humid.
Enjoyed the pit lane walk too on the Thursday and managed to get some autographs and great photos. All in all had a fab weekend ”
Hamilton Fan
“First trip to Monza after 30 years of watching F1 – such an evocative place! Standing on the old banking and walking the circuit after the race is priceless. The noise in the stand when Alonso led into the first chicane was electrifying. Can’t wait to return. ”
Boddington
“Great visit for 3 day pass to monza, which entitled us to pit lane walk on the Thursday, fabulous, and so close to the event. Tickets 21F Parabolica were good, and event marshalling was very good, which allowed unobstructed views through the fencing to see the track action. ”

Circuit de Spa Francorchamps, Spa, Belgium
“Fantastic tickets, seated at the Pit Exit between La Source and Eau Rouge. As always a great atmosphere at this circuit. I liked that fact that we had toilets that had to be paid for, making them clean and bareable, unlike the normaly portable loos. I heard a lot of people moaning about having to pay, but i was more then happy to do so over the course of the 3 days.
Overall a fantastic 3 days, we always enjoy our visit to this circuit.”
Rachael Shaw (Silver: 2 Spa)
“Belgian GP is a must see, even with general admission tickets we still got a great view if the track, will definitely be back!”
Mathew Cook (Bronze: General Admission)
“Another wonderful weekend in this amazing place,Great viewing with lots of action on the last corner and covered from the rain. Front row seats would be better as there are a few heads in the way. Great access to the podium right after the race. ”
SpudGP (Gold: 6 Chicane)
“Our Group of 3 visited Spa for our 1st ever Grand Prix this year. Having read the 2010 reviews, our expectations were clear regarding the weather, food and access to the track. However, I’d have to say that pre-booked Gold Seats in the covered stand was a real treat – we avoided the rain, had great views from La Source right past Eau Rouge and had easy access to the food and the toilets. We expected the fast food but it was pleasant and a real treat – Belgian waffles and Fries just added to the occasion – there are 51 other weekends of the year to eat salads etc.
The Merchandise was pricey but easily accessible. Racing wise, the view was excellent and seeing the cars at least once from the view at the bottom of Eau Rouge is a must do…
Overall, very memorable, no complaints and well worth the price ! ”
Martin Duffy (Gold: 2 GP2)
“Only went for the race day itself but what an amazing experience.
Took my 10 year old son for what was our first live GP. Booked general admission and spent the day on the Kemmel Straight opposite the big screen. The view from this area is amazing as it looks out over the circuit so you get to experience the raw speed of the cars and also see them going through the bus stop and onto the pit straight.
Green parking was ideal, we got there at 06:30 so the traffic was very light. Our journey back to Holland where we were staying took 2 1/2 hours longer than the journey there.
We packed our own for the day. Would also suggest packing cloths for all conditions, it may have looked sunny on the TV but there was quite a cool breeze, at least it stayed dry!
If you are thinking of going to Spa, stop thinking about it and get there. ”

“We had a brilliant time at the F1 in Budapest. On the Thursday we went along to the pit walk. This was brilliant but very hard to get to using public transport.
We went to Arpad Hid but found out we couldn’t get a train to the circuit from there. After a subway ride and a train ride we got to the village and then it was about a 2 mile walk to the ring! Well worth it when we got there, but you would be better biting the bullet and getting a taxi I think, especially because it is very hot at that time of year (July/ Aug).
On qualifying, practice and race day we had no problems as the free bus ran from Arpid Hid like clockwork. This was a brilliant service. Food and drink at the circuit is more expensive than in the city but is not ridiculous. Also they are happy for you to take ur own beer, sandwiches in which I would recommend.
All in all a brilliant weekend, and what an amazing atmosphere! ”
Robin Gilmore
“As usual a very well run outfit. Tickets were as requested arrived in plenty of time with good tracking advice. Lots of info in order to make the weekend special. Good links to and from the track.
The only downside was the pickpocket who nicked my wallet on the Metro system.
BE WARNED.!!!!! ”
Martin Lunn
“Loved it, very very good race to go to!!..The Pit Walk is a must…. Absolute Must!!..get there early on the Thursday!!…Also Official cab service for 9,900 Huf from centre of town is very very worth it, as that’s about £30.00 GBP and you also get to the circuit much faster through a VIP Traffic route… There is information on this on this site very very helpful.. ”
Graham Wild
“The racing was absolutely amazing and the place where we were sat/stood for the race was great and we only had general admission. The facilities were great, however it is a long walk up to the track! ”
Clare
“Excellent seats, caught the train , the walk up was about 30 mins but two bars on the way (drinks are 4 times cheaper in these bars).
We met loads of people and ended up with a blinder of a weekend and meeting new friends, included in our ticket this year was a pit lane walk on Thursday, this was fantastic.
Journey was an hour door to door just remember to get of at Szilasliget as this was by far the best station to get of at. Be warned the food at the circuit is very expensive for Hungary ”

“Overall there isnt much you cant fault about the German GP, the facilities were amazing, good for all ages plus were all easy to get to and find. Our seats (for view of the start grid) were the best ive been too so far…
All in all i would suggest this GP would suit all types off fans from new 1s to old
Only problem which does not effect your stay in any way is that the Germans can be quite rude & no sence of humor ”
Cari
“Great weekends racing especially as Lewis Hamilton won! Atmosphere not as we have at Silverstone but all the same a great weekend. ”
Dean White
“The T4 upper seats were inline with the 100 metre board at the end of the straight this allowed us a view of the end of the straight, the first hairpin and the second and third corners it also showed the Warsteiner Kurve and a great view of the large TV screen. If we go back I would try to get the same seats again. Parking was excellent too with only a 10min walk from the car to our seats. ”
Gregor McLean Terry
“An absolute brilliant weekend all the qualifying and racing was good to watch. The tickets we booked were great and the view of thew race was good. The actual race was made better because Lewis hamilton won. Great venue aeveryone we met were friendly. Nurburg itself was busy with people but still managed to drink and eat well. ”
Mal Jarvis
“Every thing is really, good in my opinion all the services are very good, may be inside the building, if is possible put a little more shops for eating, becase is too much people for the dinner time, many thanks for your service. ”
