The Ferrari team have made it clear that they want to start off the competition with the best chance possible, mainly because they were not on top of their game in 2011. They have only won one race in the past year, that being the British Grand Prix with Alonso and now they have announced that they believe they have the car to win many more this year. They have called it the F2012 and it has many new and improved features.
There is now a step on top of the nose of the car. This means that the vehicle is able to meet rules which regulate the dimensions of the chassis. In addition to this, the lower part of the chassis has been lowered as much as possible to improve the aerodynamics of the whole vehicle. These changes will be apparent to those who avidly support the Ferrari team. Those who have been waiting to see the new model unveiled, taking part in other activities such as playing partypoker to take up the time, will now be able to judge for themselves whether or not they that think this new car will enable their team to win more often than they did in 2011.
The car is much narrower than that of last year, as well as being more tapered. Aerodynamics are also a concern with regards to the exhaust outlets, which are sited low down. An interesting feature is its pull-rod front suspension system, making this the first F1 car in 10 years to carry such technology. Apparently the F2012 is not the most attractive piece of racing equipment, however Alonso has made it clear that he is not fazed by the appearance, and is looking forward to seeing what this car can do.
